This image shows the stairs leading from the courtyard to the top of Fort Marion. The second flight of steps is supported by a wide arch. The risers of the steps are crumbling, but were intentionally made to be short. There are six cannons stacked in the recess of the arch, under the stairs. Fort Marion is also known as Castillo de San Marcos. The fort is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a National Monument.
