Trajan Speaks to the Conquered, and to His Officers, while the Dacians Mistreat Roman Prisoners

Trajan Speaks to the Conquered, and to His Officers, while the Dacians Mistreat Roman Prisoners

The lower spiral, in this image, shows the end of the twenty-sixth panel, and the beginning of the twenty-seventh. The end of the twenty-sixth panel shows the Dacian horsemen fighting, while a goddess (possibly Diana) watches the combat. At the beginning of the twenty-seventh panel, Trajan assuages the fears of the elderly and juvenile Dacians that have been captured.

This image shows the thirty-first panel, and the thirty-second panel. In the thirty-first panel, Trajan is seated, and speaking to his officers. In the thirty-second panel, the Dacians are treating their prisoners cruelly. The very beginning of the thirty-third panel is partially visible, including part of a rowed galley.
