View One from the Battlements Showing Two Cannons in the Light of Late Afternoon
The dramatic light of late afternoon casts long shadows across the gunnery deck on the battlements of Fort Matanzas, with the deepening sky of early evening and the ultra-blue water of the inlet in the background. Both cannon are modern reproductions af a Spanish six-pounder iron gun. The connon to the left (El Paco) is dedicated to the memory of Frank Suddeth and the one to the right (San Pablo) to the memory of Paul Geiser. .
