The wood frame bunks were built with two levels. There are shelves at the ends of the bunk frames. At the back of the room, there are stairs leading up to an upper floor. There is a wooden ceiling above the bunks. The ceilings were added by the British, to provide quarters for additional troops. The fort is a National Monument, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Galleries:Castillo de San Marcos, Forts and Fortifications, St. Augustine, St. JohnsKeywords:bunks, castillo de san marcos, fort marion, saint augustine, st. augustine, wood frame bunks, wooden ceilingPhoto Location: St. Augustine, FloridaPhotographer: Dr. Roy WinkelmanDate of Photo: 10/08/2011Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.025F Number: 4Original Dimensions: 5486×3588Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 29°53'52.65"N 81°18'43.88"WPicture Number: 25193
