A sweeping panoramic view of the beautiful but unforgiving landscape surrounding the Gran Quivira Pueblo. A lone paved path extends through a sea of tawny grass spotted by multiple one-seed Junipers. The A panorama showing some of the interior of the later Spanish church at Gran Quivira. Construction of this building started after a new priest, Diego de Santander, was assigned to live here in 1659. In 1670, all work on the church was brought to an abrupt halt. By 1672, the church was abandoned entirely.
