- Students will explain how to get from one location to another by using a map of their school.
Procedure
- Create a map of your school in a draw program that shows key walkways and intersections.
- Give students beginning and ending points and have them trace the route. This can be done with paper/pencil, or the students can draw lines in a template in a draw program.
- After students draw the route, have them write or explain verbally how to get from place to place.
- The students should use cardinal directions in their explanation. Use this lesson in conjunction with Cardinal Directions , and students can use their own compasses.
