Freshwater marsh at Circle B Bar Reserve

Freshwater marsh at Circle B Bar Reserve

A restored freshwater marsh at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The property is being restored to a more natural state after its use for a cattle ranching operation that altered the landscape and flow of water across the land. The reserve is home to many species of water birds, including ospreys and bald eagles. Alligators are also plentiful. The restoration project is a joint effort by Polk County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
