The Vine Covered Trellis on the Baker House

The Vine Covered Trellis on the Baker House

This two-and-a-half story brick building, with side gables, is the Baker House. There is a trellis, between the ground floor and second story windows, with a vine growing along it. There is an addition on the back of the building, covered with wood lap siding, which was typical of Harmonist houses. Economy was the third settlement started by the Harmonist Society, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. The site is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. For more information about the Harmonist Society’s settlement at “Oekonomie,” visit the Old Economy Village website.
