This is a butter churn. The churn consists of a stoneware vessel, a wooden lid, and a wooden plunger. It looks like there is a similar churn next this one. Economy was the third settlement started by the Harmonist Society, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. The site is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
