This is a boot jack. The heel of the boot goes into the notch of the inclined surface, and the crescent rests on the toe of the boot. The users hands grip the handles, at the top of the stand, then pull their foot out of the boot. Economy was the third settlement started by the Harmonist Society, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. The site is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
