A Metal Plaque Showing Engine House Number Six

A Metal Plaque Showing Engine House Number Six

This is an historical marker for the Allegheny Portage Railroad, near the Skew Arch Bridge. There is a metal plaque on the monument. There is a relief carving on the plaque that shows a disassembled canal barge, on a flatbed railroad car, being pulled up an incline plane. The scene that is depicted on the plaque was copied from a painting. Skew Arch Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as part of the Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site.
