A Safety Buck

This is a model of safety buck, or safety car. A safety buck was positioned downslope from a railroad car, to prevent the railroad car running away. Engine House No. 6 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as part of the Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site.
