This is an iron boot scraper. There are two vertical iron rods, with scrolled top, sunk in concrete. A small iron rod runs, horizontally, between the two vertical rods. There is a flat piece of iron that fits into grooves on the inside of the vertical iron bars. The flat piece of iron would be used to scrape mud from boots, before entering a house. Economy was the third settlement started by the Harmonist Society, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. The site is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
