Guatemala Dolls in Worry Doll Wreath Holding Small Accessories (Partial View)

Guatemala Dolls in Worry Doll Wreath Holding Small Accessories (Partial View)

A wreath made up of worry dolls from Guatemala, Central America. There are 29 small dolls, each handcrafted from cloth and wire. The little heads are stuffed and the facial features are hand sewn. According to the legend, worry (or trouble) dolls are thought to worry in a person's place, thereby permitting the person to sleep peacefully. Someone who cannot sleep can tell their worries to the dolls and place it under their pillow before going to sleep. The wreath stands 14 inches (35 cm) tall.
