The Island Theater was built to show movies to family and guests. The Barletts would charge their guests an entry "fee" of two matched shells from the beach. The Theater was reconstructed in 1987, according to the original design depicted in a 1944 watercolor by Frederic Bartlett's son, Clay (1907-1966). The theater is used today for educational programs.
