The Attachment of Rumsey Fire Pumper's Handles to the Pumping Mechanism (alternate view)

This image shows how the handles were attached to the pumping mechanism, on a Rumsey Fire Pumper that manufactured around 1860. There are handles on each side of the pumper, and they pivot along the center. There is a ceramic knob on the access panel. Economy was the third settlement started by the Harmonist Society, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. The site is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
