The Blocks Representing the Battles of Parker's Cross Roads and Thompson's Station, and the Campaign of Vicksburg
This water feature, entitled “The Stream of American History,” is part of the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center. The water feature uses symbolism to represent the history of the United States, in relationship to the Civil War. The large blocks of stone, in the center of the water feature, all represent major battles and campaigns of the Civil War. Names that are all in capital letters are campaigns, and the rest are battles. The size of blocks reflect the number of casualties in a given campaign or battle. The blocks representing the Battles of Thompson's Station and Parker's Cross Roads are here, as is the block representing the Campaign of Vicksburg.Galleries:Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, PrismsKeywords:battle, campaign, civil war, corinth, corinth civil war interpretive center, mississippi, parker's cross roads, stone block, stream of american history, symbolism, thompson's station, vicksburg, water featurePhoto Location: Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, Corinth, MississippiPhotographer: Nathan WolkenhauerDate of Photo: 10/29/2011Device Make: CanonDevice Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark IIExposure Time: 0.002F Number: 2.8Original Dimensions: 5616×3744Picture Orientation: LandscapeGPS Coordinates: 34°56'14.50"N 88°31'48.06"WPicture Number: 21048
