Butterfly Maiden Kachina carved by Hopi Indians. The Butterfly Maiden is said to be a fertility Goddess who brings about new beginnings and fresh starts in life. She is often carved as a young Native American woman with wings or as a girl surrounded by butterflies. This Kachina doll is beautifully carved with colorful wings, feathers on her head, and a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She even has carved, brightly colored jewelry around her neck. Her stand is wood that is carved into flower petals. The figure stands 10 (25 cm) inches tall.
