The Front Porch of the James M. Taylor House

The Front Porch of the James M. Taylor House

This is the Dr. James M. Taylor House, also known as the Candler House, at 1022 North Fillmore Street. The house was built in the early 1870s, in the Gothic Revival style, with an ell-front, T-plan. The front door is flanked by rectangular sidelights, with a rectangular transom above the door. The posts that support he roof of the porch have an octagonal shape. The posts are connected by a wooden Tudor arch, which appear to be more decorative than structural.
