This map was created before the North Pole was reached by Peary in 1909, and shows the routes of McClure (1850–1854), Nordenskjold (1878–1879), and De Long (1881), and the northernmost points reached by Cook (1778), Parry (1827), Markham (1876), De Long (1881), Berry (1881), and Lockwood (1882).
