Description: A map of Hellas or ancient Greece before the Dorian migration through Pelasgi into Pelopones. The map gives the general territorial boundaries at the time. "At a period long before the beginning of recorded history the Pelasgi were overwhelmed by an invasion of a more vigorous and warlike race, the Hellenes, who, descending from Thessaly, entirely overspread the peninsula and gave their name to the whole country. There were four chief divisions of the Hellenese, — the Dorians, &Aelig;olians, Achæans, and Ionians." — Swinton, 1874, p. 77.
