Research

Action Research for Technology Integration (ARTI)
Action research is a powerful tool to improve student success in the classroom. Unfortunately, it is not easy for most teachers to conduct a teacher research project for the first time. The Action Research for Technology Integration tool provides important step-by-step guidance as a teacher works through the components of an action research study.
What Works Clearinghouse
The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) was established to help improve the education of American students by: producing high quality summaries of research on the effects of educational interventions and approaches on student outcomes, promoting the use of rigorous scientific methods in studies of educational effectiveness, promoting the use of rigorous research in education decision-making, and facilitating public and educator access to research-related resources.

Technology Assessment

Technology Uses and Perceptions Survey (TUPS)
This survey asks about teacher use, comfort, and attitudes about technology in the classroom. It is particularly useful to help determine appropriate professional development needs so teachers are not wasting time learning things they already know or sitting in advanced training unrelated to their specific needs. Schools and districts often use this survey before and after a grant project to assess its impact.
The Technology Integration Matrix Observation Tool (TIM-O)
This observation tool provides a consistent means of observing the level of technology integration in a classroom. Even without extensive training, an administrator or faculty peer can answer a branching series of questions about the classroom activity and produce a profile of the technology integration for the lesson across five characteristics of a meaningful learning environment. The profile can help teachers discover appropriate next steps to advance technology integration in their classrooms.
