Historically, the name referred to a large shelf of rock which jutted out from the Canadian shore, located just north of the present observation and commercial complex. Revealed in the mid-1700s as the Horseshoe Falls receded, Table rock was the first major vantage point for tourists of the early and mid-1800s. In 1818 the first part of the rock collapsed, followed by minor rock falls in 1828 and 1829. The most notable rock fall occurred in July, 1850, wen roughly one-third of the point collapsed into the Niagara Gorge.

Along with St. James's Palace, it is one of only two surviving palaces out of the many built by Henry VIII.Thomas Wolsey, then Archbishop of York and Chief Minister to the King, took over the lease in 1514 and rebuilt the 14th century manor house over the next seven years (1515–1521) to form the nucleus of the present palace. Wolsey spent lavishly to build the finest palace in England at Hampton Court, which he was later forced to give to Henry as he began to fall from favour.

A trip hammer resembles a hand-hammer held in a horizontal position. The hammer is placed at the end of a heavy beam pivoted near the opposite end. By means of simple machinery the handle was raised and then "tripped" or let fall, when the hammer-head delivered its blow upon the anvil. They were at first operated by water power, but later by steam power.

Fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea, is a moth in the family Arctiidae known principally for its larval stage, where it creates the characteristic webbed nests on the tree limbs of a wide variety of hardwoods in the late summer and fall. It is mainly an aesthetic pest and is not believed to harm otherwise healthy trees. It is well-known to commercial tree services and arboriculturists

The Fall Army Worm (Spodoptera frugipeda) is part of the order of Lepidoptera and are the caterpillar life stage of a moth. They are native to tropical regions of the western hemisphere, from the United States to Argentina. They are regarded as pests and are known to wreak havoc with crops if left to multiply. Their name is derived from their feeding habits. The army worms are some of the most destructive pests to agricultural crop in the world. Once the food supply is exhausted the entire "army" of worms will move to the next available food source.

Crocus (plural: crocus, crocuses) is a genus of perennial flowering plants, native to a large area from coastal and subalpine areas of central and southern Europe (including the islands of the Aegean), North Africa and the Middle East, across Central Asia to western China. The genus Crocus is placed botanically in the iris family (Iridaceae). The plants grow from corms and are mainly hardy perennials, and are found in a wide range of habitats, including woodland, scrub and meadows. There are about eighty species of crocus (of which approximately 30 are cultivated). Their cup-shaped, solitary, salverform flowers taper off into a narrow tube. Their color varies enormously, although lilac, mauve, yellow and white are predominant. The grass-like, ensiform leaf shows generally a white central stripe along the leaf axis. The leaf margin is entire. All crocuses typically have three stamens. The spice saffron is obtained from the stigmas of Crocus sativus, an autumn/fall-blooming species.

"Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. 3And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against." Italian Rye Grass (Lolium Italicum) differs from the Perennial Rye Grass in the florets having long, slender awns and from bear darnel in the glumes being shorter than the spikelet. The Italian Rye Grass turfts less than the Perennial Rye and the stems grow higher. The Italian Rye's leaves area light green and it gives an early, quick, successive growth until late in the fall. The soils best adapted to the Italian Rye seem to be moist, fertile, and tenacious.
