Aichi M6A1 Seiran

Aichi M6A1 Seiran

An Aichi M6A1 Seiran on display at the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Designed to be launched from a submarine to strike at targets on the United States mainland, no Seiran ever saw combat, but the weapon system represents an ingenious blend of aviation and marine technology. This is the only surviving example in the world.
