Greece Folk Doll in in Traditional Karaguna Costume (Three Quarter View)

Porcelain Greek folk doll dressed in a costume reflective of the Thessaly region of Greece (Karditsa and Trikala). This traditional costume, which is still worn today, consists of a pleated white dress with thick black edges, handmade tufts at the edges of sleeves and embroidery at the hemline, and a red velvet vest and apron with gold trim and embroidery. She is also wearing gold chains, intricate medallions and detailed gold coins. On her head, she has a black head kerchief adorned with gold chain and coins. Tag: "Evelt Themis. Dolls in Greek Traditional Costumes. Hand Made in Greece (Karaguna.)" The figure stands 12 inches (30 cm) tall.
