Lockheed Lightning

A Lockheed P-38J Lightning on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. In the P-38, Lockheed engineer Clarence "Kelly" Johnson and his team of designers created one of the most successful twin-engine fighters ever flown by any country. In the Pacific theater, Lightning pilots downed more Japanese aircraft than any other Allied plane.
