Description: A map from 1872 of the vicinity of Fort Frederica, near the battle site of St. Simons Island (1742) between the British and Spanish during the War of Jenkin's Ear. Frederica is situated on the west side of St. Simon's Island, below the principal mouth of the Altamaba, and on one of its navigable channels.
