Girl and boy souvenir dolls from Holland, in the Netherlands. They are in traditional Dutch costume. Both dolls are wearing the famous wooden shoes, called klompen. These shoes are hand-carved and unpainted. The girl is wearing the traditional peaked Dutch cap, a red coral necklace with decorative buckle, and a dark dress, with embroidered collar (kraplap). The boy is wearing a dark jacket with the traditional double row of brass buttons in the front and a chain at the waist of his loose-fitting pants. The figures have molded hard plastic heads and have jointed arms and legs. Their torsos are stuffed cloth. The wrist tags read, "Genuine Rozetta Dolls - Amsterdam (Holland)". The figures stand 8 (20 cm) inches tall. For stories and games related to multicultural miniatures, visit Multicultural Education through Miniatures
