  • Podcasting Basics
    This tutorial on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site explains what podcasting is and shows you how to subscribe to podcasts using iTunes, a free program from Apple. Since iTunes is cross-platform, the steps shown in the movie will work on Windows as well.

  • Podcasting with Audacity
    Learn how to use Audacity, a free audio editing application that can be used to record music, podcasts, and more.

  • Podcasting with Blackboard
    This tutorial shows you how use Blackboard, a popular content management system, to make a podcast available to your students. Blackboard provides an easy an easy way to upload a podcast and make an RSS feed for it available to your students. The tutorial is available on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site and includes a PDF document with the instructions.

  • Using the Parental Controls Feature of Windows Vista
    This series of Flash tutorials show you how to enable the parental controls feature of Windows Vista. You can use the parental controls to limit when the computer can be used and which programs and websites can be accessed. You will need to have the Flash plugin installed to view these tutorials (the free plugin can be downloaded from the Adobe website.)

  • Windows Movie Maker
    Windows Movie Maker is the basic video application included with Windows XP. Learn how to use Windows Movie Maker to create a movie with transitions, effects, background music, and voice over narration.

  • Google Earth is available on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site. Google Earth is a cross-platform program so the steps shown in the movies will work on Windows as well. The movie below shows how to install the program if you're on Windows.

  • Getting Started with GIS using AEJEE
    These movies show you how to use Arc Explorer Java Edition for Education, an entry level Geographic Information System (GIS).

  • Inspiredata Basics
    This tutorial on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site shows you how to use Inspiredata to collect, organize, and visualize data using several types of diagrams supported by the program. The movies were recorded on a Mac, but Inspiredata is a cross-platform program so the steps shown should work on the Windows version of the program as well.

  • Inspiration Basics
    This tutorial on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site shows you how to use Inspiration to create concept maps that help you brainstorm and organize your ideas. The movies were recorded on a Mac, but Inspiration is a cross-platform program so the steps shown should work on the Windows version of the program as well.

  • Online Photo Sharing with Flickr
    This series on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site covers a web 2.0 service that allows you to store photos online and share them with other people. The movies were recorded on a Mac, but Flickr is a web service that is accessed using a web browser so the instructions will be the same on Windows. One difference is that you will have to use Internet Explorer 7 instead of Safari to view the RSS feeds created by Flickr. The movie below shows you how to use the Windows version of the Flickr Uploadr.

  • Introduction to Wikis with PBwiki
    This tutorial on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site explains what a wiki is and shows you how to set one up with PBwiki, a free wiki hosting site. The tutorials were recorded on a Mac, but PBwiki is a web service so the steps shown in the movies should work on Windows as well.

  • Creating Interactive Experiences with the iPod
    Learn how to use your iPod for more than just listening to music and watching videos. Did you know you can use an iPod to deliver a test to your students? These movies show you how to use the Notes feature of the iPod to create interactive content. There is also a set of movies on how to use the iQuiz game to create review quizzes. The movies are on the companion Tech Ease for Mac site. The steps for creating the content on Windows are the same, but you will use Notepad to create your Note files.
