The fishing proves to be exciting, and they are happy with their catch. They set out into the gulf, but quickly run into trouble when the motor gives out.
Pip begins to suspect Orlick in the attack on his sister.
Hank appears in a stable in the Emerald City next to the Cowardly Lion, the Hungry Tiger, and the Sawhorse. Toto speaks for the first time. Ozma welcomes the new friends to the land of Oz.
William takes steps to secure his additional employment by meeting with Mademoiselle Reuter.
A medical man answers a strange ad in the paper concerning beetles and is met with a most peculiar task.
Edgar hopes that Heathcliff will allow Linton to live at the Grange. Joseph visits the Grange to pick up Linton to bring him back to Wuthering Heights; Edgar does not want to wake him and promises to deliver Linton to Heathcliff in the morning.

The Yankee trains Clarence to start a newspaper. the Yankee quadruples revenues and revamps tax methods, but the time comes for him to go questing.
Sumner struggles to save himself. Rust reveals the circumstances of his stranding and broken arm.
Several contrivances of the author to please the king and queen. He shows his skill in music. The king inquires into the state of England, which the author relates to him. The king’s observations thereon.
The girls awake Christmas morning to find gifts from their mother, and decide to help out a less fortunate family.

The cat and the lion are brothers. Although the lion is stronger, the cat has a magical golden ball to protect himself. However, the ball is actually a handsome young man that is under a spell and can only be released by two young maidens.
A shoemaker sets out to earn money in another town. He is successful, but meets with a band of robbers who wish to take all he has earned. He devises a trick to prevent the robbers from getting the better of him. The robbers soon realize that they have been deceived, and seek out the shoemaker for revenge. He again outwits them, and so it goes on.
Charles Westmacott is in the care of his aunt because his parents were killed in the Mutiny. Clara and Charles have been talking and as Clara leaves she sees her sister conversing with Harold Denver. Clara presses Ida to tell her what happened between them, but Ida will not allow herself to be looked after. Clara has placed herself in the role of a mother to Ida and cares for her future.
Frank’s suspicions about their nightitme visitor are confirmed. The boys have a visit from the town sherriff, who tells them about the fugitive he is hunting. Will sets out to get photos of the wildlife, not realizing the risks he takes.
