The Ghost, sets sail one last time, headed towards the coast of Japan. After a period of rough weather, the exhausted couple find themselves in more familiar seas. Hump and Maud finally admit their true feelings.
Edgar hopes that Heathcliff will allow Linton to live at the Grange. Joseph visits the Grange to pick up Linton to bring him back to Wuthering Heights; Edgar does not want to wake him and promises to deliver Linton to Heathcliff in the morning.
