The Windows 7 speech recognition can be used to simulate mouse functions such as right-clicking, double-clicking and scrolling with a mouse wheel.

Below is a list of the most common mouse commands available with the Windows 7 speech recognition feature.
- Click followed by the name of an item: performs a single click.
- Double-click followed by the name of an item: performs a double-click.
- Right-click followed by the name of an item: opens the contextual menu for that item. To select an option from the contextual menu say its name (for example, “new, folder” would create a new folder). To close the contextual menu, say the word“cancel” until the contextual menu disappears from the screen.
- Scroll up or scroll down: scrolls the document or window by a small amount.
- Scroll up one page or scroll down one page: scrolls the document or window one page or screen at atime.
- Show numbers: displays an overlay on the screen with numbers for selectable items. To select an item, say itʼs number followed by OK. You can combine the “show numbers” feature with other mouse commands. For example, you can say “Show numbers” followed by “double-click one, OK” or “right-click two, OK”.
